Installation and Hardware FAQs

Installation and Hardware FAQs

 Installation & Setup Knowledge Base

This article covers everything from hardware installation timelines to post-install support, ensuring your facility is ready for a seamless launch.

1. Installation Timelines

Installation speed depends on the complexity of the hardware being installed.

Device TypeEstimated Time Per Cart
Classic Installed (With or without Cart Stop)30 Minutes
2Way Screens (No Cart Stop)60 Minutes
2Way Screens (With Cart Stop)90 Minutes

2. Course Requirements for Technicians

To ensure a professional and efficient install, the facility must provide:

  • Work Station: A well-lit, indoor area with enough space to move carts freely.

  • Assembly Area (2Way Only): A 6–8 foot table for component layout and bracket building.

  • Climate Control: Protection from inclement weather; a heated area or space heater is required for below-freezing climates.

3. Geofencing Best Practices

Geofences are the digital boundaries of your course. Note: Clients are responsible for drawing their own geofences due to their intimate knowledge of the property.

Timing

  • Wait for Data:

    Warning
NEVER draw geofences prior to installation.

  • The 2-Week Rule: Best practice is to wait two weeks post-installation. This allows the system to collect real-world location data to ensure mapping alignment.

Strategy

  • Start Small: Begin with Greens, Parking Lots, Residential Areas, and Property Entrance/Exits.

  • Customer Experience: Take geofencing slow to allow players to adapt to the new environment without being overwhelmed by alerts.

4. The Installation Process & Sign-Off

Day 1: Setup & Pilot

  • Technicians perform an inventory crosscheck.

  • Initial installation is completed on one cart followed by a full system check (usually takes most of the morning).

  • The Tagmarshal Champion must sign off on the initial installation.

Final Day: Handover

  • The Tagmarshal Champion is required to sign off that the system is fully operational before the tech team leaves the property.

5. Testing Protocols

We test the following features before completing the job:

  • Classic Devices: Geofence buzzers and round-triggering accuracy across all 18 holes.

  • 2Way Screens: Messaging, F&B ordering, advertisements, and dashboard broadcast alerts.

6. Classic Mobile Tag Implementation

For facilities using Mobile Tags (for walkers or bags):

  • Charging: Charge tags overnight upon delivery; they are ready the next day.

  • Deployment: Place tags in the green Tagmarshal Pouch. You may write the tag number on the pouch for tracking.

  • Retention: * Set up "Exit" geofences to alert staff if a tag leaves the property.

    • Place a "Drop-Box" at the 18th green for easy returns.

    • Note: Lost or missing tags are not covered under warranty.
