Analytics Hub

How to use the Analytics Hub

Analytics Hub

The Analytics Hub is the central engine of the Tagmarshal system, providing a simplified dashboard that visualizes the performance of your course over time.

Th Analytics Hub provides a centralized dashboard that visualizes data collected to help golf managers improve pace and flow of play.

The following specific information, data sets and tools are visible and trackable within the hub:

  • Goal Setting & Benchmarking: This feature displays team goals and tracks progress against them to drive continuous improvement. It also measures the success of pace-based interventions by showing if playing groups returned to their correct position.

  • Average Round Time

  • Playing Group Performance Bar Chart: This provides a visual representation of pace data, allowing managers to identify which days of the week are quicker or slower. It also tracks the total number of interactions and staff interventions.

  • Starter Accuracy Data: This highlights the impact of late tee-offs on individual rounds and subsequent play. It identifies daily trends to help starters focus on timing consistency.

  • Hole Stats Data: This data identifies bottlenecks and shows exactly how long players are waiting on specific tee boxes. It is used to spot opportunities for optimizing hole setups.

  • Pace Distribution Chart: This offers a comprehensive view of how completed rounds compare to set goal times. It shows the exact proportion of players who are on pace, providing a more accurate view than simple averages, which can be skewed by very fast or very slow rounds.

Here are training videos on how to navigate the Analytics Hub: https://tagmarshaltraining.talentlms.com/plus/courses/shared/start/LTOIDNHR

1. Enhanced Data Visualization

The hub utilizes AI-powered graphics and intuitive tools to showcase trends. This allows operators to spot patterns—such as specific days or times when the course consistently slows down—without needing to manually sift through spreadsheets.

2. Performance Metric Tracking

  • Average Round Times: Compare actual playing times against course goals for specific days or time segments.

  • Hole-by-Hole Stats: Identify "bottleneck" holes where delays frequently originate.

  • Goal Setting: Set performance benchmarks for the team and track progress in real-time.

  • Interaction Logs: Review on-course staff activity, distinguishing between formal "interventions" (addressing slow play) and "check-ins" (hospitality-focused greetings).

Key Feature: Advanced Reporting

Separate from the daily hub, Advanced Reporting facilitates a "deep dive" into operational metrics to aid in long-term strategic planning.

1. Granular Time-Block Analysis

Data is broken down into specific increments, allowing management to see performance by:

  • Tee time blocks

  • Days of the week

  • Weeks, months, and full seasons

2. Capacity Optimization

By understanding exactly when the course has "gaps" or where pace is being maintained efficiently, operators can safely add tee sheet capacity. This allows for more rounds to be sold without adversely affecting the player experience.

3. Fact-Based Committee Discussions

The detailed reports provide a "digital paper trail" for boards and committees. Instead of relying on anecdotal evidence about pace of play, GMs can present objective data to justify changes in interval spacing, course setup, or staffing levels.

Multi-Course Operator (MCO) Reporting

For management groups overseeing multiple properties, Tagmarshal offers consolidated MCO Reporting:

  • Benchmarking: Compare the performance of different facilities within the portfolio.

  • High-Level Oversight: View on-course performance vs. objectives across all locations from a single login.

  • Engagement Tracking: Correlate how much a team uses the system (engagement) with the actual performance results of that course.

Core Reporting Filters

The system enables users to refine data based on specific round parameters:

  • Round Length: (e.g., 18 Holes)

  • Hole Combinations: Analyze specific segments of the course

  • Starting Hole: Track performance based on where groups begin

  • Playing Group Sizes: Compare pace across different group configurations

Time-Based Data Breakdowns

Course metrics can be visualized and compared across several chronological views:

  • Tee Time Blocks: Identifying performance trends throughout the day

  • Days of the Week: Comparing weekday vs. weekend performance

  • Days of the Month: Tracking monthly trends and specific dates

  • Weeks and Months: Providing high-level seasonal overviews

Visual Analytics Interface

The reporting dashboard features a Pace Distribution chart that uses color-coded bars to represent group status (e.g., On Pace, Behind Pace). Detailed data tables underneath the chart provide specific statistics, including:

  • Groups Recorded: Total volume of play for that period

  • Staff Activity: Total number of Interventions and Check-ins

  • Round Time Metrics: Average, maximum, and minimum round times

  • Compliance Percentages: Percentage of rounds finishing within specified time buffers

Why Data Matters

  • Revenue Gains: Courses using advanced reporting often see a significant increase in annual revenue by optimizing tee sheet capacity.

  • Operational Efficiency: Automation identifies "Pace Disruptors" (problem groups) before they affect the field, allowing staff to intervene only when and where it is needed.

  • Enhanced Player Experience: Consistent, predictable pace of play is the #1 driver of player satisfaction and repeat bookings.

Pro Tip: Use the Customizable Widgets on your dashboard to pin the metrics most relevant to your role, whether you are a Superintendent tracking turf wear or a GM focusing on revenue and capacity.

How to use the Analytics Hub

Use the Analytics Hub to review course performance, track pace and flow, manage on-course interactions, and interpret your course data effectively.

1. Accessing the Analytics Hub

  1. Click on the Tagmarshal icon in the upper left-hand corner of your screen.
  2. Under the Management header, select Analytics Hub.

The Analytics Hub is a powerful set of tools that turns course data into actionable insights. It helps you improve operational efficiency, monitor daily or weekly goals, and analyze round performance using metrics built on millions of tracked rounds, years of research, and course partner feedback.

2. Setting Up Your Analytics View

When first opened, the Analytics Hub defaults to showing data for today’s date. You can adjust this view to any desired time period.

Customize Your Filters

  • Course Selection: Choose 18 holes (or another configuration).
  • Hole Type: Select all or specific hole types.
  • Hole Start: Choose all or specific starting holes.
  • Group Size: Filter by all groups or specific sizes (1–6 players).
  • Date Range: Select from Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, Last Month, or a Custom Range.

Once your filters are set, click Generate Report.

3. Reviewing Tracked Groups

The first module displays how many groups were tracked during your selected time period, broken down by group size.
Example:

  • 1 group of 2 players
  • 1 group of 3 players
  • 24 groups of 4 players
  • 5 unassigned groups (unknown group size)

This data helps identify participation trends and group distribution patterns.

4. Analyzing Average Round Times/ where to see your average round time

The  graph at the top middle of your page compares your hour-by-hour average round time to your goal time for each part of the day.

Example:

  • Average round time: 4 hours 32 minutes
  • Goal time: 4 hours 35 minutes

Hover over the graph in the middle of the page at the top to view how many groups were tracked at each hour and whether rounds were below or above pace.

5. Reviewing Weather Integration

Weather plays a major role in round times. The integrated weather module shows:

  • Daily weather conditions
  • Wind speeds
  • Key environmental factors

This helps explain variations in performance—for example, slower rounds on windy or rainy days.

6. Viewing the Daily Breakdown

This section provides a day-by-day summary for your selected reporting period.
Hovering over a date reveals:

  • Total rounds tracked
  • Average round time vs. goal
  • Time difference (± minutes)

Clicking a day opens a detailed daily view for further analysis.

7. Managing On-Course Interactions and Goals

This module tracks on-course interactions—instances when your team engages with groups during play.

Note: These are not messages but logged interventions by staff such as marshals or player assistants.

You can track:

  • Number of on-course interactions logged
  • Average time it takes to log an intervention once a group starts playing behind pace
  • Average correction time (how long it takes a group to get back on pace)
  • Interventions vs. check-ins (check-ins are positive interactions with groups on pace)
  • Problem groups addressed (identified as 10+ minutes behind both pace and the group ahead)
  • Intervention success rate (percentage of groups that corrected their pace post-intervention)

You can adjust these interaction goals by clicking Edit Goals. (Goal setting is covered in a separate module.)

8. Reviewing Hole-by-Hole Stats

This module provides a hole-by-hole performance overview, showing which holes are on pace or behind pace.

Example:

  • 8 of 19 holes (including halfway house) are on pace or better.

You can see the following:

  • Minutes or seconds over/under goal time for each hole
  • Breakdown by zone (Tee Box, Fairway, Green)
  • Insights into which zones are consistently slower or faster

If you’d like to adjust goal times for specific holes, contact your Customer Success Associate for assistance.

9. Understanding Pace Distribution

Where can I find the average pace or average round time in the Analytics Hub?

The large Graph at the top in the middle of the page displays the average round time.
To  take a closer look at the distribution of  the pace, see the pace distribution wheel bottom right corner of the page.

The Pace Distribution Wheel visualizes the percentage of groups that are on or behind pace and by how many minutes.

Example breakdown:
  • 21% are more than 20 minutes over goal time
  • 27% are under 10 minutes over goal time
  • 24% are on time or better

This gives an instant overview of overall course flow performance.

The Analytics Hub empowers you to:

  • Monitor real-time and historical performance
  • Analyze weather and pace factors
  • Log and review staff interactions
  • Optimize course efficiency using data-driven insights
