Creating A Text Advertisement


How to create and configure a text advertisement to display a pop-up message or a promotional alert to players on your 2-Way Screens.

Steps

1. Add A New Advertisement

  • Click on the Tagmarshal Logo in the top-left corner of your dashboard and navigate to "Administrator" - "Advertisements".

  • Click on the “Add New Advert” button in the top-right corner of your dashboard.

  • A pop-up window will appear where you will then be able to create your advertisement.

2. Choose Your Advertisement Type & Device

  • Enter a name for your advertisement (Example: “Welcome Text")

  • Select "Text" as the Advert Type.

  • Choose the device type:

    • "Cart Only" – Will display only on our cart-mounted 2-Way Screens (both 8-inch & 10-inch).

    • "Walker Only" – Will display only on our mobile / handheld 5-inch 2-Way Screens (not mounted to an individual cart).

    • "Any Device Type" – Any and all 2-Way devices you may have will receive and display this advertisement.

3. Set The Location(s) Of Where The Text Ad Will Display

  • Select when and where the advertisement should display. For example, "Hole 1 - Fairway.”.

  • Toggle the locations you want the advertisement to display (a checkmark indicates the ad will display in this selected zone). 

  • Please note, you can select multiple locations for the same advertisement to be displayed throughout the course. You do NOT need to recreate the advertisement for multiple locations. Ensure, however, that there aren't two ACTIVE advertisements for the same zone/location as this will cause issues and may not display the correct ad.

4. Configure Your Text Ad's Display Duration

  • Under Display Settings, set how long the text will remain visible to the player.

  • You can then drag the duration slider to your desired duration or manually enter a time value by clicking on the text box next to "seconds".

5. Add Advertisement Text

  • Type the message in the advertisement text box (example: “A reminder that we are Cart Path ONLY today. Thank you!”).

6. Configure Player Exit Option

  • Decide whether players can close the advertisement before the timer ends.

    • Enabled: Players can exit the advertisement early.

    • Disabled: The advertisement will remain visible for the full duration set where then the player can exit.

7. Set Your Text Ad's Schedule - Active Days & Times To Be Displayed

  • Choose when the text advertisement should display and be active.

  • Toggle specific days of the week on or off.

  • Adjust active hours for each day:

    • Example: Monday–Friday (6:00 AM–6:00 PM), Saturday & Sunday (6:00 AM–8:00 PM)

8. Add Sound Option

  • Use the sound toggle (speaker icon) in the top-right corner to decide if an alert sound should play when the advertisement displays.

    • Sound On: Plays an alert tone to grab the attention of the player(s).

    • Sound Off: Displays the advertisement silently.

Example Setup:

A weekday-only message displayed on the Hole 1 - Fairway for 30 seconds with no sound and no F&B link:

  • Ad Type: Text

  • Device Type: Cart Only

  • Display Time: 30 seconds

  • Message: “Welcome to XYZ! Enjoy your round today!”

  • Days Active: Monday–Friday

  • Sound: Off
