Follow these steps to correctly configure a shotgun event, assign devices to starting holes, and ensure your geofencing triggers at the right moment.
Navigate to the Starter module in your Dashboard, select Tee Times, and then click on the Shotgun tab.
Confirm the Date: Look at the right side of the screen to verify that the displayed date matches your event date.
Shotgun type and hole parameters:
Choose 18 Holes or 9 Holes.
If running a 9-hole shotgun, specify if it is on the Front Nine or Back Nine.
For standard 18-hole events, leave the setting as 18 hole shotgun with 10th through 18th.
Set the Goal Time: Click on the hour or minute window to type in a custom Goal Time (the expected duration for the round).
Assign Starting Positions: For each starting hole, click Add Tags and select the specific device number for that position (e.g., Device #7 for Hole 1A).
Add "B" Groups: If you have multiple groups starting on the same hole, click Add a B Group. The system will automatically create the secondary slot for you.
Verify Trigger Points: By assigning a device to a specific hole (e.g., Hole 2), you are instructing the system to ignore movement on other holes until the cart enters the Hole 2 fairway. This prevents the round from starting prematurely while players drive to their stations.
Configure Handicapped Groups: If a specific group needs to bypass standard boundaries, select the Ignore Geofence option for their assigned tag.
Set the Shotgun Start Time: Enter the official start time for the event (e.g., 3:00 PM).
Schedule the Shotgun: Click the Schedule Shotgun button.
Automatic Start: Once scheduled, the shotgun will activate automatically at the set time.
Player Names: Entering player names is optional. The shotgun will function without them, but adding names will link the device data to a specific player profile for your records.
