Before the first tee time, the Outside Operations staff must ensure all equipment is field-ready.
Pre-Check: Verify that every mobile tag is fully charged, functional, and packaged in its water-resistant case.
Distribution: Hand out exactly one mobile tag per playing group.
Attachment: Securely attach the tag to a golf bag or provide it directly to the group’s caddie.
System Sync: The Starter must "assign" the specific tag number to the Tagmarshal Tee Sheet to enable in-depth tracking.
Accurate pace data depends on the physical location of the tag relative to the players.
Proximity Rule: The person carrying the tag (player or caddie) must remain with the group at all times.
No Shortcuts: Caddies and players should avoid taking shortcuts that deviate from the standard pace of play representation.
Automated Rounds: Rounds trigger automatically when the tag reaches the 1st or 10th hole fairway.
The "Bad Start" Warning: Delaying at the first tee (2+ minutes late) will trigger a "bad start" designation on the Starter Report.
Proper retrieval ensures tags are available and charged for the following day.
Drop-off Points: Players should place tags in designated collection bins at the 9th and 18th greens.
Caddie Returns: Caddies should return tags directly to the Caddymaster upon completion of the round.
End-of-Day Accounting: Staff must collect all tags from dropboxes and ensure every unit is accounted for and plugged in for a full charge.
Checklists: Create a formal end-of-day checklist for the Pro Shop or Outside Ops to verify all hardware is charging.
Signage: Place physical signs at the 9th and 18th greens to remind players to return tags.
2-Way Alerts: If using 2-Way screen devices, set an "advertisement" or on-screen notification to prompt players to return mobile hardware before leaving.
