In this article, we'll go over how to update the hole times for a course. The course we'll be using is
906 Golf Course (Indian Hills). We'll need to open the Data Table and KML (sections) file for the course. You can find the files in
google drive by search for it or open the
Zones and Pins folder.
We use the data table to calculate the hole times for each individual zone on the KML file. This is the
KML file for 906 Golf course:
For any hole time adjustments, you'll receive a request from either one of our CSAs or directly from the course. For this course, we received this request by one of our CSAs, Cole Chachko.
We'll take this information and add the updated times to the second sheet in the Data Table for 906 Golf Course, take note of which hole numbers are being adjusted. In this case, it's holes 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8. For this course, you'll make the adjustment to column E. You'll see that these adjustments will automatically update column F.
We'll now copy (ctrl + C) column F with the minutes and past it in the first sheet on the data table.
After you paste (ctrl + V) the new hole times, you'll see that the output section updates, this is the information that we'll use in the KML file.
We'll use the goal time and cumulative goal time to update the sections in the KML file. After we've updated the hole times, we'll check for any errors. To open the data table on the KML file you'll need to click on:
- The three dots next to Indian Hills - Allocations
- Click on Open data table
