Investigating Player Complaints About Slow Rounds

1. Acknowledge the Player’s Concern

  • Thank the player for bringing the issue to your attention.
  • Confirm the date and tee time of their round.

2. Locate the Round

  • In TrackMap, use the date filter to select the relevant day.
  • Identify and click on the player’s tee time to view detailed round data.

3. Analyze Round Performance

  • Review the total round time in the sidebar.
  • Compare it with the goal time for your course to determine if delays occurred.
  • Use the TrackMap view to visually identify slow segments.

4. Identify the Cause of Delays

  • Look for orange markers (holes where the group lost time) and purple/magenta markers (groups affected by others).
  • Check for geofence breaches that might have slowed pace.
  • Review any staff interventions or interactions logged during that round.

5. Communicate Findings

  • If the round was near goal time, explain that data shows the round was within normal limits.
  • If there were genuine delays, acknowledge them and offer solutions or reassurances.
  • Emphasize that Tagmarshal’s system provides objective data to ensure fairness and transparency.

6. Avoid Misuse of Data

  • Use round data as a tool for education, not confrontation.
  • Focus on improving the player experience and maintaining trust.
